Low Power Consumption - Each unit uses two commonly available AA
Alkaline batteries to provide power for greater than 20 hrs.
CW, and 2-KHz Modulation - Users can easily select between
continuous wave (CW) or 2-kHz modulation with the push of a single key.
Variable Power Output - Each unit is factory-set to launch at -20
dBm, however, screwdriver adjustments for each wavelength allow LED power
to be easily changed in the field.
Single Key Operation - Ease of operation is provided for by single
key entry for wavelength selection, and CW or 2kHz modulated frequency.
Hand-Held, Battery Operated for Field Use - Don't get stuck away
from the truck with a dead LED; your AA batteries last longer, and our low
battery indicator is an early warning system that gives you plenty of
time.
The FS Series single and dual wavelength optical LED
Sources are hand-held battery-powered stabilized dual LED sources. Together
with any of Wilcom's power meters, this team makes the perfect combination
for accurately testing multimode or short-haul singlemode optical fiber systems,
cable attenuation, point-to-point connection verification, end-to-end
testing, and system installation verification.
The FS8513A operates at 850 and 1310nm. It s highly efficient, stabilized
outputs use rear facet diode technology to compensate for short- and
long-term drift.
Each unit offers selectable modulation at 2-kHz, and continuous mode (CW).
The user may select the modulated mode for quick cable identification, or
continuous mode for standard optical loss measurements.
Each LED source will operate for more than 20 hours on just two AA batteries.
All units include a "Low batt" indicator to monitor the state of
its AA batteries.
