Unframed BER Measurement (MU120102A only)
When evaluating the quality of WDM and long-distance lines using a media converter, a bit error rate test is usually used. The PRBS pattern is converted to 8B/10B data and sent without an Ethernet frame* (unframed). At the receive side, the PRBS pattern is recovered and the bit error rate is measured.
