The Model FM5004 includes both IEEE-488 GPIB and RS-232 Serial data interfaces (Instrument, firmware upgrades can be made through the RS-232 port.) Also included are a user configurable Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) ; user-selected audible field strength, temperature and low battery alarms; and a switch-selectable 0-5 VDC analog output. All functions are menu driven and controlled from the front panel.
Readings from up to four probes can be displayed simultaneously. The probes can be any combination of E-field or H-field probes currently available. The LCD readout will simultaneously display readings from each axis of a three axis probe, plus the total field reading. The FM5004 recognizes each probe and automatically displays the proper units. Backwards compatibility is provided with all glass-cabled probes in the ETS-Lindgren line. Up to four measurement set-ups can be configured and stored. The ETS-Lindgren Holaday EMF isotropic RF field probes have an integral battery powered transceiver that communicates with the Model FM5004 field monitor through a paired fiber optic cable. High, low or average readings can be selected from any or all probes, giving flexibility in choice of signal input and automated leveling for EMC testing.
