Inline High Power Sensor (Average)
The MA24104A Inline High Power sensor is designed to provide accurate average power measurements from 600 MHz to 4 GHz for power levels as low as 2 mW to as high as 150 W. The sensor employs a single directional coupler at the front end of a diode sensor with "dual path" architecture that provides (similar to thermal sensor) True-RMS measurements over the entire frequency and dynamic range enabling users to make highly accurate average power measurements for both CW, multi-tone and digitally modulated signals such as GSM/EDGE, CDMA/EV-DO,WCDMA/HSDPA, WiMAX, and TD-SCDMA. The presence of a micro-controller along with signal conditioning circuitry, ADC, and power supply in the sensor makes it a complete miniature power meter.
The Anritsu Power Meter application for personal computers running Microsoft Windows can be used to control and operate the sensor.
For the products that support USB, the sensor easily connects to the instrument via a USB A/mini-B cable. These supported USB instruments include the MS272xB, MT8222A, MS202xA, MS203xA, and MS271xB instruments.
In contrast, the instruments with an RS-232 serial interface require an external DC supply in addition to the RS-232 serial cable. These RS-232 instruments include the Site Master (S331D/S332D), Spectrum Master (MS2711D) and Cell Master (MT8212B) products.
The High Accuracy Power Meter (Option 19) is a software option that enables the desired instrument to interface with the power sensor.
